WHAT is the India Immersion Centre (IIC)? The IIC is a centre designed for the curious newcomer to India who is interested in immersing and indulging in the Indian culture. The centre provides a space to discover all the different traditions of India – with events and programs appealing to every sense. Here, every observation is accompanied by an explanation. The IIC offers skills learning, cultural experiences, entertainment, and social networking. The India Immersion programs and curriculum have been carefully planned by Global Adjustments. We have done international research on life experiences related to relocation and matched it to the key emotions – Navarasa – described in Indian dance. For each emotion, there is an IIC solution.

Events of October THE IIC was inaugurated on Thursday, 9th of October, on Vijaydashami day – the ninth and final day of the Navratri festival. The Navratri festival (or Festival of Nine Nights) is held largely in tribute to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge. It is widely celebrated in South India with a Golu – a display of dolls. It is very significant that the IIC was opened on this important day, as Vijaydashami is believed to be very auspicious and that any new venture which is initiated on this day will be successful. Celebrating the launch of the IIC on a day dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning, is also quite significant since the centre is built around this very spirit of learning. It is Global Adjustments’ hope that anyone who enters the centre will take with them the knowledge of India and return to discover more.
